I flashback rivelano la vita edonistica di Damon nei club del sottosuolo ed un complicato incontro con Lexi (guest star Arielle Kebbel). Nel frattempo, Caroline (Candice Accola) e Stefan (Paul Wesley) cercano di convincere Klaus (Joseph Morgan) che conviene anche a lui aiutarli ad eliminare Silas, e Bonnie (Kat Graham) con difficoltà cerca di rimanere ancorata alla realtà e di fare la cosa giusta.
